The 2023 Holiday Heroes Project & Food Drive
The holiday season is also the season of giving, and 2023 marks the 4th year of our annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. From November 16 – December 12, 2023, Sterling Real Estate Group is collecting non-perishable food items and personal care products to support those in need.
The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York is a local not-for-profit organization that collects donated food and distributes it to nearly 900 charitable agencies throughout the 23 counties of northeastern New York. Making sure people in need have food to eat is an important cause for us, and we’re excited to host the food drive each year.
Donate This Year
In prior years, we have collected and donated approximately 3,850 meals and 4,600 pounds of food and personal care items. If you’re interested in donating to the cause, then you are welcome to stop by our office any time through December 12. Food items and products can be placed in the bin outside our door 24/7 for your convenience.
A small team of Sterling agents will also deliver the food to the Regional Food Bank’s Latham facility and volunteer where help is needed.

#GivingTuesday Recipients
Another great way we give back to the Capital Region community is through our #GivingTuesday program. As part of this program, we select different local organizations to receive a monetary donation, and share the name of the recipient and their mission on our Facebook page.
#GivingTuesday traditionally begins on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and continues throughout the holiday season. You can visit our Facebook page each week to watch a video announcing the latest recipient.
On Tuesday, November 28, our first recipient of 2023 was revealed as Rebuilding Together Saratoga County, and on Tuesday, December 5, we announced the second recipient, Girls Inc. of the Greater Capital Region. The Annual Saratoga Showcase of Homes
Each fall, the Saratoga Builders Association hosts the Saratoga Showcase of Homes in Saratoga County. This annual event is held over two weekends, and it features a lineup of magnificent homes by the region’s finest, award-winning builders.
During the 2023 Saratoga Showcase of Homes, attendees had the opportunity to tour 9 new homes from 7 Showcase builders: Belmonte Builders, Kodiak Construction, DeGraff-Bloom Custom Builders, DSG Construction & Remodeling, R & M Homes, Whitbeck Construction, and Witt Construction. $70,000 were raised at this year’s event, with funds going toward Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Saratoga.
Our team is a proud supporter of the Saratoga Showcase of Homes, and Sterling Real Estate Group Director of Sales and Marketing/Licensed Real Estate Broker Lisa M. Licata is co-chair of the Showcase committee, and has been on the board for 19 years. The entire committee works hard to ensure the Showcase of Homes continues to be a successful event.
